COGNOR S.A. was established in 1991, initially operating on the wholesale and retail sale of steel products. Since 1994 the company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and since 2006 has become part of a bigger production group operating in the field of production and distribution of steel products.

Currently, the company is the holding company of a capital group consisting of several companies mainly in Poland.

In 2007 Cognor offered Eurobonds on international financial markets and is currently listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The company, as the issuer, is rated by ‘Standard and Poors’ and ‘Moody’s’ rating agencies.

The COGNOR Capital Group mainly operates in 2 areas as follows:

• Production division represented by the companies: Huta Stali Jakościowych S.A. seated in Stalowa Wola and Ferrostal Łabędy Sp. z.o.o. seated in Gliwice manufacturing semi-finished and finished goods of steel, long (smooth rods, flat and structural steel) as well as flat (thick and thin steel sheets), Rolling Mill Bruzdowa.
• Raw materials division represented by Zlomrex Metal Sp. z o.o. seated in Poraj, engaged in the trade of recyclable materials, steel scraps and non-ferrous metals with production companies from the group itself and third party companies.
